In a cosmic battle, Tishtriya, the rain god, faced Apush, the demon of dryness, as the people invoked rituals and imagery to aid their deity in achieving victory. Consequently, the persistent and repetitive motifs, such as the hidden and visible motifs and parallel lines, evolved into symbolic expressions of their longing for rain.
